Count the starting positions
NetEnt’s product page lists the layout as 1-3-5-3-1. Add those heights and the starting view contains 13 positions. The centre reel has five; each neighbouring reel has three; the outer pair has one each.
Sketch five columns and label them 1, 3, 5, 3 and 1. When an expansion occurs, update the affected columns before calculating the new total. This makes a changing screen understandable using ordinary arithmetic and keeps the layout separate from any displayed award.
What regular Mystery symbols can reveal
The provider identifies three regular effects. A Multiplier +1 adds one to the main-game multiplier and applies from the next win. A Wild occupies its position for the next spin. A Bomb reveals an additional pair of reel positions; after all positions are open, Bombs add extra Free Spins at feature entry.

Separately, if one expansion event adds a pair of positions, the visible count increases from 13 to 15. That position calculation and the award calculation answer different questions. Keeping them apart helps explain how a single feature can change both the board and future awards.
