The volcano moved inside a temple — the eruption mechanics didn't change.
Cash Eruption Temple of Fire: Rules of the Aztec-Themed Variant

The short answer
Cash Eruption Temple of Fire is the temple/ancient-civilization entry in IGT's Cash Eruption family. The engine is unchanged: six or more Fireball symbols lock and trigger hold-and-respins, the expanding goddess figure upgrades the locked prizes, and free spins use jumbo middle-reel symbols. The differences are thematic and configurational — temple iconography, its own presentation and prize dressing — rather than a different rule set. Learn one Cash Eruption and you've learned the family.
In this article
Temple of Fire is the ancient-temple variant in IGT's Cash Eruption line — stone temples, jungle and fire imagery in place of the original volcanic island. Like Hephaestus, it's a themed redeployment of the same proven hold-and-respin engine rather than a new game.
The feature rules
- Land six or more Fireball symbols anywhere in view to trigger the Cash Eruption feature.
- The triggering Fireballs lock and the remaining positions respin — each new Fireball locks and resets the respin counter.
- The goddess symbol expands when she lands, boosting or upgrading the values of locked positions.
- The feature ends when respins run out or the grid fills; locked positions then reveal their prizes, including the upper jackpot tiers on a full or near-full grid.
- Separately, scatter combinations trigger free spins played with jumbo symbols occupying the middle reels.
Variant vs original
For practical purposes the rule set is the same: trigger count, respin logic, expanding goddess, jumbo free spins. What differs is presentation and the specific paytable dressing — Temple of Fire has its own symbol set and prize art, and each cabinet ships in configurations the casino selects. Two Cash Eruption variants on the same floor may also carry different bet ranges and different configured returns.
Temple of Fire is also the variant most often positioned alongside the original on the same floor — casinos like running the family as a bank, because players who already know the Fireball feature migrate between themes without learning new rules. For a first session, the only preparation that matters is the same as on any Cash Eruption: check the trigger count on the help screen, note the bet levels, and confirm which prize tiers your denomination is eligible for before the first spin.
